Dedicated to Daddies
(and happy 80th birthday to the photographer's grandmother)
Canon-balling into the quiet water
The waves that ripple out you helped me make
As far as the galaxies I am lucky to be your daughter
Everything travels through time for life’s sake
The droplets scatter in arches of beauteous grace
Water in the air is nature’s own proud lace
You are always clear minded and clever
Laughing right out with red faced, boisterous cheer
I will love you always and forever
That is something even through the ocean you can hear
But in our little place of splendid memory
We are living, laughing and loving happily free
