Day 312 - Heartless

One day I met a heartless boy
As I was walking in the woods
I asked him what happened to joy?
He said it faded away on shoulds
What should have been but never was
When I asked him why he only answered, because

I offered to search for his heart with him
He shook his head and said thanks, but no
I told him finding it alone seemed grim
He shrugged his shoulders and said I know
But she who took it ran far away
And I am without it to this very day

Day 249 - Heartsick

To the bedridden heart I have little to say
But wrap deeper into your sheet's cocoon
Your bleeding emotions only endlessly lay
And this agony will end no time soon
Scar tissue can hide the oozing slits
Whilst within this cradle life sits
Not revealing the problem at the core
In your quiet falling and rising chest
It mentions what else may be in store
When your aching memories leave you no time to rest
Whoever used to share this quiet place
Has now left you without a trace
No arms to hold you safe and near
Only mocking decor of old
No one to call you his sweetest dear
The pillows have grown cold
In this empty bed your heartsickness will swell
Making every night lonelier, the night from hell

Day 109 - Heart of a Lion

Heart of a Lion
Echoed upon the walls in drawings
The final ballad the bard sings
Will tell the tale we long to discover
When men act kindly to one another
If you can find the lion in your heart
You shall be one set far apart

Day 54 - Unholy Hurt

Unholy Hurt
Barely holding on at all
Ready to take that plunging fall
Leaving me here all alone
This you cannot possibly atone
Of all the things to keep it away
In your faith I could pray
And yet against this gray sky
I see we never saw eye to eye
You say it is only winter now
That you will come away somehow
But now I have stopped believing
And I sit here wild and seething
You have broken my heart you see
The most tender and sweet part of me
