Day 241 - Perched High Above You

Under brush thick and green
Because you have never seen my face
Still in my heart you are queen
One day you will enter my embrace

Photos of your determined gait
Like this one wall paper my room
My heart begins to palpitate
Every time my camera begins to zoom

I cut a lock when you were sleeping
From your hair so golden and light
Those others said I was creeping
But I was only watching you last night

Your chest that fell and slowly rose
How I wished to hold you to mine
I could write you endless prose
For you are mine, my Valentine

I am only perched high above you
Because I so ardently love you

Day 143 - Mind Maze

Locked into horrors you cannot know
Every piece of my soul distorted and aged
Mottled beyond repair from long ago
Wishing my demons could at long last be caged
And yet they still hover over my head
All the redeeming thoughts remain unsaid

They once lingered on lips of red
But have since faded to varying grays
If only she had not completely misled
We might have made it to another phase
Instead I am left pulled apart into pieces
Until what I know of this world ceases

For now I cower to pull away
From all the terrifying possibilities
As threads of life begin to fray
One of the many tolls and fees
That come with dangers in the mind
The most treacherous and painful kind

Day 42 - Meditations

Meditations
At ease my student let your mind leap
And throughout your body let calmness seep
It is afterall through this that you discover the soul
And how to find the center of your control
Learn slowly from your master for I have much to share
And it all begins raising your existence up in prayer
For in contemplation you find the sturdiness of stone
And then remember that you are not alone
The water from out beyond is in every single way
The answer to the messages we know not how to say
Deep breath brings in more of wisdom and the Divine
So you may begin to live, sweet, true and fine
The truth that we strive for is all around
In every moment, view and sound

Day 16 - Puzzler

Quietly you puzzle me, with a thousand shades of gray
You never define what you mean and always have more to say
I used to think you were forward and knew every answer
I thought you were the music, but you are not even the dancer
White patches lie safe in the company of black
I used to trace each path trying to find my way back
Roads that only travel straight forbid change and growth
Black and white opinions are no times to take an oath
Instead we must find the colors that weave into our living
They are the surest way to measure what it is we are giving
Some moments mean confusion and disregard
But if we could stand together it would not be so hard
Light may glance off and form many a shadow
Leaving the truth for some far tomorrow
Quietly you puzzle me, with a thousand shades of gray
You never define what you mean and always have more to say

Day 4 - Madness

Madness I say it spins all around
Never is there an inch where solitude is found
Instead we face off with our fears
Until all hope and honor disappears
We learn to fight, but not to heal
In this world we create with cold steel
Time rushes on without our permission
So we find ourselves in submission
Where we dare to keep nothing sacred
And without ritual we soon build hatred
Only to find that we cannot care more
Asking so silently “what is this for?”

Madness I say it greets you and I
When in the harmless we find a great spy
That peers in daily to watch our routine
And soon we turn harsh, bitter and mean
Only locked by the frame we have built
But drawing more in, with waves of false guilt
Ponder all this and anger you will find
Is only built within your very own mind
What was once no more than a frown
Has now turned entire worlds upside down
Instead of cowering in absolute fear
Open you ears and for once HEAR

Madness I say is all in your head
Built by yourself, not stories you read
No fable or tale I could ever compose
Would make a man doubt what he thinks he knows
You are the master that you so desperately crave
In the mirror the man to be saved, you can save
Just take a moment to look for the good
And soon you will find just what you should
That glaring off at your own reflection
Is only the path to further misdirection
Instead you must smile and say
“How best can we enjoy this glorious day?”
