Day 365

She was in love with the whole world
He was trying to find the world and saw her
The wind in her hair, the way she twirled
Free visions that began to stir

Dreams were drenched that wonder year
In sounds that only spoke in color
Side by side there, they knew no fear
Delighting in shaking the rule they were under

And so it was they were caught in an array of tales
That were not planned in any way at all
Filling the wind of their childish sails
Slowly daring to break down the wall
They made beautiful mistakes in the town
That leaked in tears across the pages of time
Started by wicked joys that pulled the stars down
Turning every moment into the perfect rhyme

He watched her with the eyes of awe, no words to speak
She lived the only way she knew, in love with the world, not a person
The day turned into many a sunshine bleached week
In those days the creativity had only just begun

So he went about capturing the moon
Just that she may reveal its strange light
All they said was with the essence of a tune
One that darkened day and illumined night

Seasons waxed and waned in time with growing
Sunflowers once green as emeralds began to droop
Less was given space, and they stopped knowing
Once inspiring moments could be found on loop

But the golden days returned in fields of hope
That flung words into the sky of freedom
Stringing beads, words and places upon the rope
That lasso-ed the wonders of their kingdom

And now the photographer with the poet at his side
Is pulling forward the messages of rhythmic deeds
Together they fade into the horizon, as the ocean’s tide
Destined to leave a healthier ground for inspiration’s seeds

Day 361 - Twenty-Four Hundred Times

I wondered what happened on this block
So much so that it was repeated again and again
So amazing that it was inscribed on the rock
To be seen by the next age of men
Was it the dance that put all melodies to disgrace?
Was it the place where they ended the last war?
Was it the memory of seeing such a fair face
That nothing like it had ever been seen before?

I hope it was the words between the truest of lovers
That cannot be shared between any others
I hope it was the peace that echoes forever
When all of the universes stand together
Tell me if you can with all of your rhymes…
What was it that happened twenty-four hundred times?

Day 353 - Make A Wish on Your Dreams

I used to believe in things I could not see
They were there, how could they not be?
They were like the scents on the wind
Very real but never to be pinned
Down, and given a real name or title
For mundane men to fill a boring recital

I used to trust in the magic of sound
It flew through the air, vibrations all around
It filled up the lungs of those who want to share
The joys of each moment both sorrow filled and fair
It echoes long after the giver is gone
In the sounds of notes tinkling they still live on
They still write messages to we who live
They gave all that they could ever give

I used to believe if I wished hard enough
Nothing was impossible, no problem too tough
I would just imagine things straight into being
Paint them like the dreams I kept seeing
Pluck them from the roses and stars up above
Pass them on in packages of love
Leave them on the street for the common man to find
Dream them up day and night, keeping them in mind
One day I would wave the thoughts about and all around
Then thrust them onto the ivory to create a perfect sound

Now I know deeply the things I cannot see
I know the loss if they are not to be
I know the sounds and melodies are true
They are the only answer to meeting you
I know that when I wish on my dreams it is not in vain
It brings a little bit more hope, and takes away some pain

Day 332 - Far Away

I am flying back to our place
Every night in my deepest dreams
Just hoping for a glimpse of your face
But I never make it to you. It seems
I get lost on the way in the sky
Or the green grass that protects our haven
Each morning I wake up to shake and cry
Alone without my embracing maven
Why did you go so far away?
What could I have done to make you stay?

Day 329 - Dreams of You

Things are so different in the night
You enchant me in the soft light
You whisper the stars down from on high
You put your eyes twinkle into the sky
You inspire me to speak in tongues
You are the scent filling my lungs
In this dream you are the sun and the moon
You are my midnight and my blazing hot noon
You are all that ever need be
You are everything that I see
The flowers turn to the shade of your hair
So golden and perfect in the night air
The rivers run deep in the blue of your eyes
The blush in your cheeks makes the sun rise
And I write on forever, only of you
For nothing else matters, or could be as true.

Day 274 - To Be Completely Honest I Died

In a dream just like this one
I fell to the floor in a heap
Eyes wide for the very last time
As I entered my eternal sleep
The light you see is not my soul
It is only the lamp's reflection
I have gone off on my final adventure
Without a single earthly recollection
The blank stare that you see there
Is the look of the peace I found
I flew away unseen, my eyes green
As my human body fell to the ground

Day 194 - Gravity Giving Out

One day gravity gave out on me
So I floated high up for all to see
Like a balloon against the sky so blue
Up and away I went and the farther I flew
The more I missed the blue flowers down there
And all the hugs that show how much people care

You see on the ground I could dance and sing
Songs like the classic "I don't wanna miss a thing"
But that means much more when you are high in the clouds
Far away from the rock concert thriving crowds
Or the smell of your mother's chicken soup secrets
And the cuddling of your many panting and happy pets

It seemed so thrilling being like a bird so high
Waving as airplanes passed me in the sky
But only until I saw the passengers happily land
And the people on the beach, toes in the sand
Flight is a blessing many wish for when they are young
But the magic of Earth is the most melodious song unsung

The amazing trees rooted deep into the ground
The screeching yet beautifully renewing sound
Of a babe barely born into this place
And the sweat covering a laughing mother's face
But most of all true friends and close family
Makes the ground my favorite place to be

Day 184 - Wishing Corner

Enter into a world of cornered light
Through window panes of solid white
That clarifies every wish every time
As fairy godmothers in a nursery rhyme

In that chest is gold and jewels
Every book with all the rules
That beg each day to be broken
So that all entrances are newly open

The lamp is one of Aladdin's treasures
That holds all unearthly pleasures
Under the shade of secrecy
All that you ever wished to see

In the end the shadows hold all
For the ending narrowed hall
That captures wishes forever
Bringing the wisher and dream together

Day 144 - Blank Canvas

White with no attitude to express
No way to naturally address
But to call upon brilliant shades
Reds, blues and blacks in spades
To create a real world of space
One that lives in a real place
Potential states truly nothing
In this place without anything
But they say hope is white
When you reflect upon it in light
So that we will believe and hold on to
What else can true artisans and dreamers do?

Day 134 - Pillow Words

Waking slowly eyes soft and soaked in sleep
From dreams your thoughts dare not yet creep
They call you back to the gentle pillow
Once more to the imaginarily sweet show
Although your head stays steeped in thought
Many old memories are now long forgot
So you stay in your stupor so calm and sweet
Until you begin to feel wholly complete

Day 87 - The Young Willow

The Young Willow

Dedicated to those who have spent their summers in the Willows.

There is a blessing upon this place
Destined for many an embrace
Of the young hopers and dreamers to come
They shall change the world and then some
With their words they shall spar
Never viewing with anger from afar
But rather taking on justice with pride
The leaders of the kind and noble side
They paint tapestries of peace
Until all fighting shall at last cease
They shall stand side by side hand in hand
To embrace the different and understand
For understanding leads to good things
Such as smiles and trampoline springs
In this future a sweet and precious sight
Holding out through the rain, beckoning light
Yes the young ones will one day be old
Under these willow branches tales will be told
Of how hope was planted and grew
In the hearts of both me and you

Day 48 - Free Flowers?

Free Flowers?

I only ask for flowers when it is cold
And love stories still untold
I only wish for a new star in the sky
So that no special moments will pass me by
I only need a life like no other
All these are exhaustions for a lover
Yet you bring me flowers when it is freezing
You never scold me when I am too teasing
You think I am that celestial light
You wish upon me sweet dreams every night
In asking for the impossible I show
That such things cannot yet in my heart grow
So now I want everything else to be gone
Only for this moment to live on
But I see you in the corner turning the clock
So that into this instant we can lock
The only thing you cannot give to me
Is my unheard wish to be free
To fly away, high and soar
To things I could never ask for

Day 42 - Meditations

Meditations
At ease my student let your mind leap
And throughout your body let calmness seep
It is afterall through this that you discover the soul
And how to find the center of your control
Learn slowly from your master for I have much to share
And it all begins raising your existence up in prayer
For in contemplation you find the sturdiness of stone
And then remember that you are not alone
The water from out beyond is in every single way
The answer to the messages we know not how to say
Deep breath brings in more of wisdom and the Divine
So you may begin to live, sweet, true and fine
The truth that we strive for is all around
In every moment, view and sound

Day 40 - Dream Drops

Dream Drops
Let angels fluff the pillows where your head lies
May your dreams be blessed with many a sweet surprise
Holding tightly to the dreams that fly above us all
Nothing is so magical as when we are small
Lemon drops are treats, but dream drops mean much more
They flit and fly within your mind and help your hopes to soar
Innocence is valued in the purest of light
When in the final moments we grasp the power of night
That inspires and grows into things we cannot control
Letting go of everything and igniting the soul
