Safety
Danger looms in every corner beware!
It insidiously grows up from the white
Looking to trap and slowly ensnare
All those who have sweet dreams at night
It comes in the form of sparse vegetation
Urging on many a heart racing sensation
Just behind these dangers lies protection
That everyone most desperately seeks
Though to retrieve it you must go another direction
Sometimes for days or perhaps even weeks
But all these struggles are worth it they say
To keep you dry on that coming rainy day
If only you could grasp the peace from here
Not watch in longing as it narrowly flees
If only you could conquer that pernicious fear
That blocks out the courage to wander through trees
And take what is yours in the long fair scheme
But from this stance that all appears only a dream
