Day 303 - Anywhere America

Hop in your truck, car or van
Hurry get moving as fast as you can
This day is not going to wait for you
After all in the real world few things do
They speed up on the old turnpike
Pedal to the floor, urging the engine faster
Unaware of how we did when young with only a bike
It would seem today, to be the worst disaster
Power resides in the lines that guide drivers
Without them we would all turn into colliders
Hundreds around the country can say
This road is like that one I get on every day

Day 295 - Lines in the Air

Follow that line into oblivion
We can travel anywhere
Somewhere no one else has found
We can walk off until the horizon shrinks
Because we have met a corner of the world

We made it all the way to the top
Of this sphere that is always turning
And the tiny icicle like clouds
They are each filled to the brim (and beyond
Their fluffy borders), with magic undiscovered

Today someone set the world afire
And burned our memories with beauty
That is inconceivable except
To those who have gazed into your eyes
That are emerald majesty, deeper than any ocean

We met with the crossroads of life
And watched as the world sped about
All in a hurry to go somewhere else
But you and I sat happily in the moment
As we took another breath and

Looking heavenward we stared in awe
As some fanfare of wonder sounded
Blessing those who took the moment to hear it
Lines of music paper crossing the skies
To impress tunes here and beyond

Day 216 - Shady Street

The dooming clouds are no hoax
You shall never be welcome down this way
There is no good humor to coax
Life is truly and menacingly gray
With rainbow proudly wrapped around metal
Refusing in the blowing sea breeze to settle

The green and white of conformity
Clearly declares the stately warning
There is no answer in any sort of enormity
Just a refined level of scorning
To be done in the most simplistic manner
That wreaks and weaves in waves of candor

The danger and gloom is honest dear
But so is the underlying hopeful sight
No words could make that any more clear
Or encourages any greater a fright
Yet the world would be incomplete
Without such places as cheery Burt Street
