Day 348 - Staring Match

I had a thousand questions to ask you

Before I stood face to face with you

Now staring until you have the answer

To every single one of them will have to do

You seemed to have so much to say

When I was young and in my mind we would play

Now it seems you do not possess a tongue

But from my face your eyes do not stray

If ever I could manage to break this gaze

And untangle the mysteries so like a maze

I would leave this place once and for all

And yet all I can do is stay here in this daze

Day 168 - Au Naturel

Layer me up but in the end I'm au naturel

I was there lying in the very first garden

Just like us all I have secrets to tell

And I am too proud to beg your pardon

I filter light into angelic arches

To the beat of my drum my soul marches

The green that you see comes from above and below

With so much energy and zest I am created

Uniquely and spiritually I continue to grow

I believe in the path I make, not one that is fated

It is true I am only one leaf on the tree

But still I choose to live just as I wish to be

So even in a world where I seem transparent

I am front and center in my life's rushing wind

With many a message I joyously sent

Never in the state of mind to be straightened

I am proudly au naturel, the ruler of my belief

Though on this tree, I am more than just another leaf

Day 161 - Revelation

With all the world out the door

I find I cannot even stand up and go

I gaze up from the floor

And the rate of my heartbeat begins to slow

There is much I can change from down here

Things that from up there you cannot see

Being above me does not make you a seer

And being below you I am only more free

Liberated to become whatever I am

Growing beyond all of your labels

And up against my ribs my heart begins to ram

So I gladly crossed the lines of old fables

To sit and watch the world as I see it

Learning how best I can master and be it
