Day 154 - Bending Bricks

I wish our walls could bend at ease

That brick by brick they were built for flexibility

But not all can be as I please

Day by day that becomes easier and easier to see

The arch made there is a compromise

One that the wall made for the land

But bricks and dirt have no knowing eyes

And take much less to understand

Walls are sturdier than I can be day after day

Because I was not made to weather rain

I was made to hear and search for the sweet things to say

And learn to muster paths away from pain

We cannot bend as the walls do

We can only search for what is true

Day 79 - House of Glass

House of Glass

Hidden behind glass so thin

Is the path you shan’t begin

It is only a pretty view

To fade away with the morning dew

It is the barrier that you need

So of the glass take cautious heed

It seems the frame of perfection

But is only the path of misdirection

The shining rays only deceive

In your own heart you must believe

That path is one you should not begin

So if you must gaze out, but stay in

Day 78 - Veins of Forever

Veins of Forever

Let the wisdom rush over you

If that is all you ever do

You will still come out better

Learning from the veins of forever

That grows strong within this tree

Building momentous mystery

The rocks that find home at its base

Listen to how it joins the life race

For a rock has essence though smaller

Than that which helps the tree grow taller

And the people watch the trees as well

Though some believe we have more to tell

In truth all life can learn from the trees

They have no reason to hide any of the keys

They help to open many a proverbial door

Answering the ancient question, “what is all of this for?”
