Day 303 - Anywhere America

Hop in your truck, car or van
Hurry get moving as fast as you can
This day is not going to wait for you
After all in the real world few things do
They speed up on the old turnpike
Pedal to the floor, urging the engine faster
Unaware of how we did when young with only a bike
It would seem today, to be the worst disaster
Power resides in the lines that guide drivers
Without them we would all turn into colliders
Hundreds around the country can say
This road is like that one I get on every day

Day 287 - Extraordinary

A vibrant cataclysm of color greets my memory
In the scene of reflections we flee from
Rushing across the sky of clouds
To a fantastic illuminating hum

The blades of grass push away daisies
To make fields greener if only for this instant
Begging you to run through them barefoot
To inhale the evergreen wonders of mint

The sun glances off a tiny sliver of glass
Shielding your vessel with intelligence
Pulling things from this reality far away
Across the ivy embraced plane fence

There is the faded but ever sharp warning
"Objects may be closer than they appear"
But that is simply the life we live
Nothing is ever caged enough to be crystal clear

Day 225 - Must Turn Left

Must Turn Left
Destruction leaves a foul taste
Amongst perfect homes and offices
All is rigidly encased
So when nothing seems quite right
We choose to cut and paste

Red on white, with black and yellow
Almost like that old warning
We were told during a snake show
When we were quite young
Something we did need to know'

About how the world turns out
When age gets the best of us
Regardless if we go on and pout
Goodbyes still creep up too fast
Forcing us onto that new route
No promises that it will last
