Day 332 - Far Away

I am flying back to our place
Every night in my deepest dreams
Just hoping for a glimpse of your face
But I never make it to you. It seems
I get lost on the way in the sky
Or the green grass that protects our haven
Each morning I wake up to shake and cry
Alone without my embracing maven
Why did you go so far away?
What could I have done to make you stay?

Day 237 - Smudging Time

How deeply can one extend his shackles into the grasp of the night?
Grins of silencing gazes, blinds the fluttering sight.
That smudges memory in deathly charcoal exposure,
The cracking clock on the wall so we know all is over.

Scattered to grains of salt and pepper,
Too often happy to expose and taunt the leper.
Who inhales this filth hoping one day,
To like all these memories be smudged away.

That white seeming honesty is a lie, you see
Twelve gasping hours choking on attempts to be free
From the all knowing all seeing omnipotent wretch
Scoffing like an owner whose dog is told to fetch

More charcoal to smudge each instant
More erasers to pull off the moment
When this clock was embedded deep in the wall
Before the times when mankind began to crumble and fall

Day 172 - Close Your Eyes

I see you, looking in for an answer
But I doubt you really need and crave it
You think if you find it things will be easier
Like if you can get the right light you could save it
Or rather me, from whatever plagues me into black
But darling you are traveling down the wrong track

I am locked in a world of dark corners and jokes
Where clowns taunt and tease me until I frown
And in that place there are pushes and pokes
And many other ways to bring you down
But I know a secret that keeps me calm
The way to keep going without any harm

I close my eyes shut and look at nothing
But the dreams where you hold me how you love me
There are no nightmares that they can bring
That can pull me away from all that swirls above me
A ballad of magic and true loves alliance
Makes me smile as together we dance

Day 3 - Eye of the Beholder

Whispers of dread fill the dull sky
Fading between lines of slumbering trees
Farther away you hear a small cry
That is brushed away on a gentle breeze
This wintry wonder holds not an ounce of hope
It refuses your pleas to find a method to cope
With the nightmares that never cease
Rather mere wisps of light fill your view
They are dwarfed by despair and lack peace
The darkness shrouds all else from you
But now it changes as we look for the white
You can just feel the coming of light
Far in those trees the crying has come to a halt
You find a small smile playing softly on your face
Someone has labored to stop the sad fault
And release the anger that had in kindness no place
You appreciate now the darkness as serene
Knowing the glory in what is heard, though unseen
