Day 340 - Mauve Memories

They used to only hold majesty
On the throne of Mother Nature, the queen
Lavender lives in a field so misty
Bits of magic living, never before seen
But by the fairies who decorate evenings
In the light of the Moon's cautious sliver
That calls upon the cricket that sings
Of her reign as the ultimate giver
Of mysterious moments locked far away
Within the eyes of ox-eyed Hera, so fair
Laced inside the words that Don Juan would say
Even in the pond that caught Narcissus' stare
Yes, the memories sweet mauves call upon
Bring up emotions of the rarest kind
Over which all of mankind is known to fawn
On which the wickedest spells, bind
Oh, Mother Nature how we revere you
With all of the wonders you reveal to be true

Day 317 - Fallen to Sleep

The long shadows remind me
Of how the winter grasped so quickly
About the forest and the peace
I used to believe could never cease
Yet I was wrong or so it seems
When the wind brushes me away
Like the breath of my dreams
With years of words to say
To tell the tale of why she lies
Now parallel to the brilliant skies
She used to reach for with every stem
Once crowned in leaves she now lies in them

Day 293 - To Be a Martyr

Nobility dose not lay in bright colors
Nor in the way that you died that day
Not in your long list of past lovers
Or the manner in which you caught your prey
Instead it lies in the way you live
The way you treat those in harder times than you
With what you have how much you give
Not in how you die, but in what you do.

Day 274 - To Be Completely Honest I Died

In a dream just like this one
I fell to the floor in a heap
Eyes wide for the very last time
As I entered my eternal sleep
The light you see is not my soul
It is only the lamp's reflection
I have gone off on my final adventure
Without a single earthly recollection
The blank stare that you see there
Is the look of the peace I found
I flew away unseen, my eyes green
As my human body fell to the ground

Day 271 - Obliterate

And so it all ended in a blast of light
All the anger and love, joy and fright
Faded out to leave nothing in its wake
Everything to give, yet nothing to take
For when everything is a blinding white
There is nothing more for human sight

Day 246 - The Knife

Slicing into my flesh sharp and deep
You embed yourself there
Many a secret your blade can keep
Malicious without a care
In the world, that will halt this knife
From cutting until I begin to pour
Blood and above all else strife
When you hit my darkest core
Swollen in this fruit of desire
Rotting through many an age
The anger spreads like fire
Proving a dangerous rage
For I am ended, as you pierce me deep
I will be forced into eternal sleep

Day 245 - A Stairway To Heaven

One at a time even less than that
No need to rush the steps you take
Again you wipe your feet on the mat
Hoping not to defile this for your own sake
You comprehend so very little here
Though each move towards the light erases fear

In black in white it seems too plain
You cannot pull your eyes away
To gaze here your life you train
And still you have only nothings to say
"I'm sorry" or perhaps "now I know"
Depending when you walk into this show

only your own inner dimensions can you see
of this ongoing blindness that is before you
you create the patches and vision on this journey
so the lessons you begin to learn are the truest of true
the blurring edges seem intimidating at best
but at some levels they provide a kind of rest

That cools the heartbeat this place misses
By only containing a soul and a mind
The quietness is the serenity of kisses
Such things are never clearly defined
For that would promise too much knowing
Abandoning the hope of this glowing

Grieving and perfected place
That has only up and down to peruse
Laughing when you try to race
Like the spark along the fuse
You will not feel your end consume you
For none who come here ever do

Day 205 - Choking Purity

Trap the world in a net
Somehow it will survive
Even as we easily forget
That caged, little can thrive

Block out the hopeful view
Keep your eyes closed tight
That way nothing true
Will enter the exposing light

Cut what lives down
Away from soft whiteness
Let the hope slowly drown
In angered impoliteness

What should be dancing proud
Is instead choking on fumes
The hacking grows at first loud
And then quieter as sadness looms

Purple pinches that grasp too tight
Manipulating flesh into graying bruises
If nothing seems to be quite right
In the end who is it that loses?
Better yet who really chooses?

Day 180 - Ready

Distress lies across this chair
In the form of limbs and veins
You think you might possibly care
But not enough to steal away my pains
That float in the watery eyes that are mine
But yes I am willing to say I am doing just fine

Has the world wearied of such expressions
That only open the door on more regressions
That in better days were left out on the cold porch
But have since set fire to the house with a single torch
They left me inside the building to burn until I am only ash
Each cruel word has the bite of a leather whip's infuriated lash

Here I lay letting go of it all my wrist wrapped in pink
Maybe someday they will remember or even stop to think
What happened to the boy whose eyes were always closed tight
Even when the world tried desperately to share some form of light
Their answer will have fallen to the bottom of a dusty pile of memory
For at the end of it all only I could outlive what they chose to think of me

Day 174 - Remembering

In the lights too bright for soft eyes
Remember me
In the dark of many a hidden surprise
Remember me
I lived happily true
Remember me
Still I lived close to you
Remember me

I brighten shadows into truth
I remember you
I embody the age of youth
I remember you
I live with joy in my every vein
I remember you
I am set to begin once again

Day 164 - Momentary Paradise

There is a paradox in this paradise
That filters like the sun through the blades
Something so malicious and precise
That life before your eyes fades
The light still rims seeming perfection
Someone lies dreaming of correction

That would fix the tragic reality
That man has woven into this place
Disregarding his own mortality
With a grim look upon his face
He pollutes this once hopeful haven
Blackening life like the wings of a raven

But for this moment life is still
Forgetting the factories of smoke
Ignoring the angry and vicious will
That with oil and methane our earth soak
Taking away the colorful sights
All for the glowing city lights

Day 91 - At Last Gone

At Last Gone

Broken memories falling down
All the lives from this small town
Are now forgotten here
No one lasts to shed a tear
When do you at last no longer live?
When you have no more left to give
And no more is given for you
It is then that your life is through
But the light shed down from heaven
Brightening the bluest of sky
Proves that not all is broken
There are still those souls soaring high
