Day 365

She was in love with the whole world
He was trying to find the world and saw her
The wind in her hair, the way she twirled
Free visions that began to stir

Dreams were drenched that wonder year
In sounds that only spoke in color
Side by side there, they knew no fear
Delighting in shaking the rule they were under

And so it was they were caught in an array of tales
That were not planned in any way at all
Filling the wind of their childish sails
Slowly daring to break down the wall
They made beautiful mistakes in the town
That leaked in tears across the pages of time
Started by wicked joys that pulled the stars down
Turning every moment into the perfect rhyme

He watched her with the eyes of awe, no words to speak
She lived the only way she knew, in love with the world, not a person
The day turned into many a sunshine bleached week
In those days the creativity had only just begun

So he went about capturing the moon
Just that she may reveal its strange light
All they said was with the essence of a tune
One that darkened day and illumined night

Seasons waxed and waned in time with growing
Sunflowers once green as emeralds began to droop
Less was given space, and they stopped knowing
Once inspiring moments could be found on loop

But the golden days returned in fields of hope
That flung words into the sky of freedom
Stringing beads, words and places upon the rope
That lasso-ed the wonders of their kingdom

And now the photographer with the poet at his side
Is pulling forward the messages of rhythmic deeds
Together they fade into the horizon, as the ocean’s tide
Destined to leave a healthier ground for inspiration’s seeds

Day 357 - Ice Cream Island

The trees that are poking through the cream
Are thriving off the magic of the chocolate stream
The pink piles of ice are cotton candy clumps
All the trees grow from colorful lollipop stumps
If you sleep on the white ice cream it is as soft as a feather
And just take a moment to appreciate the weather
Here it rains ginger ale and ice cream floats
That run on currents of wind, towards you in boats
It is more sweetness and joy than you can understand
Ah the wonders awaiting you upon Ice Cream Island

Day 347 - Twice Upon a Time

Twice upon a frozen eve
Fairies sparkled dust high and low
Inspiring each of us to believe
In the magic of a brilliant snow
That keeps our sweetest dreams saved
In frozen icicles of protection
Such an adventure always braved
By those who call upon nature's perfection
How strongly in the glistening world I believe
On this the glowing, enchanted eve

Day 342 - Through the Door

Through this tunnel on the other side
There be wonders too great to hide
Even along this secret space's walls
Are the echoes of a thousand calls
To come and adventure the tastes of joy
To grow up from a man into a boy
To dance until youth spreads its bright wings
At the end of this tunnel are wondrous things

Day 329 - Dreams of You

Things are so different in the night
You enchant me in the soft light
You whisper the stars down from on high
You put your eyes twinkle into the sky
You inspire me to speak in tongues
You are the scent filling my lungs
In this dream you are the sun and the moon
You are my midnight and my blazing hot noon
You are all that ever need be
You are everything that I see
The flowers turn to the shade of your hair
So golden and perfect in the night air
The rivers run deep in the blue of your eyes
The blush in your cheeks makes the sun rise
And I write on forever, only of you
For nothing else matters, or could be as true.

Day 274 - To Be Completely Honest I Died

In a dream just like this one
I fell to the floor in a heap
Eyes wide for the very last time
As I entered my eternal sleep
The light you see is not my soul
It is only the lamp's reflection
I have gone off on my final adventure
Without a single earthly recollection
The blank stare that you see there
Is the look of the peace I found
I flew away unseen, my eyes green
As my human body fell to the ground

Day 165 - Princess of Memory

Within golden locks of yesteryear
Sit the quiet mystery of joys gone by
Shadowed in melodies we no longer hear
Breathing the final eternal sigh
Out into the ethers of the the sky's eternity
In the blue of your eyes it is all that I see

Speaking upon moments that fade into time
In swirling mists and pale soft skin
As white and gentle as the powdered mime
Who in the box must always begin
Yet somehow she spins him out and far away
Upon the winds of things they have yet to say

Many a story was created in her light
That once never meant quite the same thing
All beyond our own far too human sight
She to the center of all life must bring
The imaginary moments she holds in a chest
Of gold and medallions and all of the best

Day 137 - Earth's Laughter

Let us go bouncing up on the clouds
They are springy and wondrous
Just like the pressing crowds
At amusement parks too humongous
No matter what the pilots say
Whether or not the scientists believe us
Or laugh at how we wish to spend our day
Try though they might to deceive us
You and I know clouds are simply
White trampolines suspended in space
The best of the world joyfully
Scattered across the miles of Earth's round face
