Day 99 - Boston Books

Boston Books

Dedicated to book lovers everywhere,
And especially to Simone, Rachel and Jacqueline

A world of wonder awaits you here
Love stories and tales of fear
Welcome you to leap into it all
The beckoning poetic call
Of books to brighten every light
The lines straight, in black and white
Caress the mind of timidity
Knowledge is always free
Yet bound within these endless tomes
Are the makings of the perfect homes
For those who spy and in wonder live
In the stories these books have to give

Day 94 - Circle of Hope

Dedicated to Ravit, for instilling and igniting passion

Circle of Hope

Each stone has a story
A rushing, rhythmic, glowing glory
Of the mountain it used to be
Now washed into the great, wide sea
The circle that you see before you
Let it deeply implore you
To find the answer, in this time
When all anger seems the crime
We shall stand and support the young
For all their songs that are left unsung
Their growth is green and bright,
The truest source of the great light
That will teach peace to every nation
Bringing forth the greatest of elation.
For now we protect them in love
Thanking our lucky stars above
For sending us such wondrous hope
So that youth and joy may elope
Creating the world we all long for
Beginning from the stones' core

Day 87 - The Young Willow

The Young Willow

Dedicated to those who have spent their summers in the Willows.

There is a blessing upon this place
Destined for many an embrace
Of the young hopers and dreamers to come
They shall change the world and then some
With their words they shall spar
Never viewing with anger from afar
But rather taking on justice with pride
The leaders of the kind and noble side
They paint tapestries of peace
Until all fighting shall at last cease
They shall stand side by side hand in hand
To embrace the different and understand
For understanding leads to good things
Such as smiles and trampoline springs
In this future a sweet and precious sight
Holding out through the rain, beckoning light
Yes the young ones will one day be old
Under these willow branches tales will be told
Of how hope was planted and grew
In the hearts of both me and you

Day 27 - Confessions of a Cuddling Cougher

Confessions of a Cuddling Cougher
Dedicated to Eric

Now if only it were short enough for a limerick
The expression of how long you and I have been sick
But rather it has gone on for some time
And requires a longer sort of rhyme
Winter has come and with it coughs and the flu
And feeling like this leaves no much to do
Then huddle in blankets and hope for embraces
That manage to light smiles on our faces

Thank goodness for love and all things NiFTY
They leave me feeling less sick and more happy
I hope for you it has done the same
And if not at least this poem mentions your name
Hopefully you and I will heal very soon
So that once again we can play under the moon
And in the sunshine even when it is cold
Because honestly this illness thing is getting old

Dearest readers,
I am most sorry to say both the photographer and I have been feeling under the weather (to say the least) for the last few days and so today's post is a very honest expression of that, with hopes and wishes that our dear photographer, feels better.
Keep warm and healthy!
~The Poet
