Day 331 - Tears of a Generation

Someone began to weep from across the sea
And the tears began to rain down on me
The green and gray clouds began to bruise
The sky who has lost all its happier hues
Yet light peaks out in the misery
On the horizon is a new spree
One that is spreading education
Across the small and even the great nation
We have had to weep for a generation
But starting tonight we will weep in elation

A note from the Poet:
Today World AIDS Day and this post is in honor of that. This post represents the hope that in 2015 not a single child will be born with AIDs. This post represents hope for a healthier world, with less poverty and disease.

Day 137 - Earth's Laughter

Let us go bouncing up on the clouds
They are springy and wondrous
Just like the pressing crowds
At amusement parks too humongous
No matter what the pilots say
Whether or not the scientists believe us
Or laugh at how we wish to spend our day
Try though they might to deceive us
You and I know clouds are simply
White trampolines suspended in space
The best of the world joyfully
Scattered across the miles of Earth's round face

Day 94 - Circle of Hope

Dedicated to Ravit, for instilling and igniting passion

Circle of Hope

Each stone has a story
A rushing, rhythmic, glowing glory
Of the mountain it used to be
Now washed into the great, wide sea
The circle that you see before you
Let it deeply implore you
To find the answer, in this time
When all anger seems the crime
We shall stand and support the young
For all their songs that are left unsung
Their growth is green and bright,
The truest source of the great light
That will teach peace to every nation
Bringing forth the greatest of elation.
For now we protect them in love
Thanking our lucky stars above
For sending us such wondrous hope
So that youth and joy may elope
Creating the world we all long for
Beginning from the stones' core

Day 49 - Switch

Switch

If all the switches remain pointed downward
Then soon the hope for light is soured
And yet from up above something showers
No longer the hand of darkness cowers
It tries to sidle its way into the heart
Pushing it back is what sets one apart
If you could manage to flick on one light
That would make the whole world bright
If only in a single quiet corner
Then teach that trick to a foreigner
And we will light the whole world over
So that miracles shall continue to occur
