Day 344 - The Other Suns

Extended sunsets flash before my eyes, and all this
Below the flames of suns ardently begin to kiss
This galaxy of ours where time stands still
Is filled to the brim with a building will
Laced with the story Ra's journey through space
Into the hearts of men who were bewitched by Moon's grace
Meeting the horizon to claim the final moment
Before night gains the ground and the skies rent.
Stars of hope that dance before us set afire
All the tiny hearts with a sweeping desire
Like the driest call of dead plains and brush
Call the fire to lick them up in a rush
This ancient battle so ultimate always stuns
As our lives are overrun with the power of the other suns

Day 331 - Tears of a Generation

Someone began to weep from across the sea
And the tears began to rain down on me
The green and gray clouds began to bruise
The sky who has lost all its happier hues
Yet light peaks out in the misery
On the horizon is a new spree
One that is spreading education
Across the small and even the great nation
We have had to weep for a generation
But starting tonight we will weep in elation

A note from the Poet:
Today World AIDS Day and this post is in honor of that. This post represents the hope that in 2015 not a single child will be born with AIDs. This post represents hope for a healthier world, with less poverty and disease.

Day 173 - Pure Potential

Once upon a time all was complete
Before man ever knew his first defeat
There were only blossoms pure and sweet
With many moments still to greet
In this time there were no sad tales
Of how in history nobility always fails
Nor any past winds in heavy gales
Ripping to shreds beloved sails
In this place some saw a garden
Others find the core of Zen
Still more find the need to pardon
The best time to begin was then
But the world cannot exist in limbo
Where nothing has been hard and slow
Rather you must have both dove and crow
To learn upon which path we must all go

Day 40 - Dream Drops

Dream Drops
Let angels fluff the pillows where your head lies
May your dreams be blessed with many a sweet surprise
Holding tightly to the dreams that fly above us all
Nothing is so magical as when we are small
Lemon drops are treats, but dream drops mean much more
They flit and fly within your mind and help your hopes to soar
Innocence is valued in the purest of light
When in the final moments we grasp the power of night
That inspires and grows into things we cannot control
Letting go of everything and igniting the soul

Day 26

If all the music was not cut short as if sweet
Life would learn all the moments we meet
Should be greeted with tunes to purify us one and all
No long allowing our passionate convictions to stall
Instead we shall spur them onward in hopes of truth
The true voices of dreams, faith, and the youth
Take up your song, it has been cut short so cruelly
Blaze the path to the unwavering and unruly
The note shall never fade to tired dust
If we give it breath, which is a must

Day 22 - Birth

Birth

Glowing so bright and enter new life
This right here is where it all begins
There it not yet the taste of potential strife
There is no score yet of losses or wins
Instead I have hardly begun to be
I am the growing and changing you see

Reflected against black and white thought
I am still learning just how to exist
There is so much to learn and be taught
I am discovering what one can do with a fist
Either you find yourself holding the most important thing of all
Or bringing anger into the mix and making a bad call

I am only light which can bring possibilities
Behind me there are solid walls and below me floor
I have no truths yet or responsibilities
I am still looking for the key to the first door
It is only a beginning to this absolute brilliance
There is still so much to discover of my new existence

Day 1

Stark death and crackling memories
That is all they manage to see in me

Sad story songs and pitiful melodies
O that is all the young ones can ever see
But listen young one I have stayed strong
Through all of these storms and biting winds
I have made it out through the trials so long
So even now I know that new life begins
My hardy exterior it does scream
Things that you are terrified by
It has halted many a midsummer’s dream
Catching the soft artists’ eye
I have a tale that I tell so well
In which I am the last standing hope in this place
Of a kingdom that finally to ruins fell
There I was not horrid or a disgrace
There I healed all that I could
I made a difference and strong I stood
